BMW E30/E28/E24 limited slip differential, 3.25 ratio, Custom built 3-clutch (NEW OEM Clutches) 45% lockup. This is a fully rebuilt condition E30 limited slip differential set up for an E30. However, t his diff will fit all E28 5 series and E24 6-series except the M cars, all 6 cylinder E30s, the E30 M3, and E23 7-series cars from about'82 on. Fits 6 cylinder Z3 models. This is the medium size case with a 188 mm ring gear, and to make it fit your car, you just have to swap the rear cover and perhaps the pop-in drive flanges.
This differential is set up specifically for an E30 model running a high torque or horsepower motor, such as an S52. Includes differential, E30 side drive flanges, and a cleaned E30 rear cover as shown. This unit was professionally serviced and fully rebuilt. This means everything was disassembled, cleaned, and parts were replaced as necessary.
The carrier spool was rebuilt using 2 brand new clutches and adding a third, making this a 3-clutch diff (some call it a 45% rather than the stock 25% type). The measured pre-load break-away torque is over 80 ft-lbs, but is expected to drop a bit after some use (stock is less than 50 ft-lbs).
All the bearings and seals were replaced, as well as the crush sleeve and front pinion nut. The unit was setup correctly to ensure proper and long term operation.
